Special Guest Speaker!

Hey All,

If you’ve been keeping up with us lately, we’ve been having a lot of networking opportunities with the Visual Effects Dept. This Friday there will be a guest speaker in room 400 on the 4th floor at 180 New Montgomery at 7pm!

Will Anielewicz was one of the oldest hands at Industrial Light and Magic - the biggest player in the high-tech, high-stakes, Hollywood special effects business, where he produced some of the most eye-popping images ever to burst from the big screen. In 1996, Will joined Industrial Light and Magic (ILM) just in time to work on “The Phantom Menace”. The other movies he has worked on include “Space Cowboys”, “Perfect Storm”, “Artificial Intelligence”, “Men in Black II”, “Terminator III” and most recently “Pirates of the Caribbean”. Three of these movies were nominated for an Oscar in the category of “Best Special Effects in a Feature Film”. He later went on to work at The Orphanage creating digital effects. His duties included creation of special effects as well as engineering the rendering pipeline.

Once Will is done speaking, the floor will be open to any students that would like to pitch projects they may need effects for. This is a great way to network amongst fellow students and bring the quality of your work up to professional standards.

If you don’t really know what role visual effects can play in your advertising projects, we highly encourage you to come out and see the work that can be produced!! The semester is ending fast and this is an awesome opportunity for you to network for some over the summer projects.

Please RSVP with Sandra (via facebook, or sandrawhyhong@gmail.com) as we would like to accommodate space for the amount of people interested.

Thanks!
